Building Cleaner Classrooms for Healthier Learning

with Green Home Solutions & Clean Air K12

The Importance of Clean Air in Schools

Students and staff don’t get to choose the air they breathe. Unfortunately, poor indoor air quality in schools can lead to various health risks, including asthma, increased absenteeism, and even reduced cognitive abilities.

With 41% of U.S. school districts needing to update or replace HVAC systems in at least half of their schools, addressing air quality has never been more crucial.

As part of our commitment to improving classroom air quality, we’re partnering with Clean Air K12 to empower schools to build DIY air purifiers and create healthier learning environments. To further explore best practices, check out this comprehensive guide to indoor air quality in schools from the American Lung Association.

Partnering to Improve Classroom Air Quality

Green Home Solutions has partnered with Clean Air K12, an initiative of the Corsi-Rosenthal Foundation, to bring cleaner air to classrooms. Through this initiative, we are helping schools create DIY Corsi-Rosenthal Boxes—simple, cost-effective air purifiers that remove pollutants, contaminants, and viruses from indoor air.

Building clean air, one fan at a time

Why Corsi-Rosenthal Boxes Are a Game-Changer

While commercial HEPA air purifiers can cost hundreds of dollars, the Corsi-Rosenthal Box offers a fun and affordable alternative. For around $60 and a trip to the hardware store, students can build these DIY purifiers, making it a hands-on learning experience while effectively cleaning the air.

Proven to outperform many commercial units, these boxes are perfect for classrooms looking to improve air quality and engage students in an exciting, budget-friendly project. Through our partnership with Clean Air K12 and our industry relationships, we are leveraging grants and donations to bring the cost of these projects down to little or no cost for schools, ensuring that as many classrooms as possible can benefit from cleaner air.
